RICE処置(RICEしょち)

Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation (RICE) protocol

内容
スポーツ傷害（外傷・障害）への応急手当として実施される一連の対応を説明する用語であり、Rest（休息）、Icing（冷却）、Compression（圧迫）、Elevation（挙上）の頭文字をとってRICE（ライス）処置と呼ばれています。さらにProtection（保護）を加えたPRICE（Protection、Rest、Icing、Compression、Elevation）という用語も広く使用されています。また、近年では、筋損傷に対する負の影響や過剰な休息（安静）による弊害も指摘されるため、RestをOptimal Loading（最適な負荷）と置き換えてPOLICE（Protection、Optimal Loading、Icing、Compression、Elevation）といった単語が用いられることもあります。
